Going Ghost

Look closely.

I have decided to go completely ghost in 2016 and so everything I do in 2015 will be in preparation for that. What does that mean? I am not a big believer in explaining what my language means but in this blog entry I probably should.

I am creating even more boundaries for myself. MichaelDadourian.com will be the only active presence that I have in this land of fiction people call the “internet.” It began with the deletion of Myspace. I deleted my page with over 25,000 fans without hesitation. I have to deeply thank Perry from MYFM for giving me the opportunity to Model and represent your agency, publication and events. Without the great white hype, Apollo Poetry, I would not have had that opportunity originally. Myspace bridged my connections and built my network. This was the renaissance of social media. This was a time where people were not buying their “network friends.”

This is something I never understood anyway, why would anyone buy their friends? How can anyone network properly like that? How can anyone organically see their traffic and where it comes from? Well, that’s a subject for a future blog.

Going ghost is a philosophy I have adopted since January. Going ghost is a way of separating self from the superficial. Going ghost is a lifestyle and a journey.

I have since deleted the three headed monster, which I call Fakebook, Bitter and Instascam. If you see Michael Dadourian on any of those in the future, I can assure you they are NOT me and should be reported.

Why did I delete them?

Besides creating necessary boundaries between me and others, the biggest reason is that I don’t believe in them to be positive tools in today’s society. Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with the applications them selves. Just as I have no problems with every household having weapons to defend their family. I however have a problem with most people using those said applications and weapons.

I don’t see a positive correlation between the absurd amount of people using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and people becoming better humans. Forget appreciation, forget even toleration, people are straight up mentally ill with weapons for mouths and anything they can get their hands on.

Many people have nothing better to do in their lives than to troll social media and discussion boards so that they can create hatred and attention. Everyone is tough behind a computer and a log in name that is something other than their government name.

I choose to separate myself from all these applications, not because I do not see their possible business networking value but because I with all my heart believe it is the final step in societies self destruction. Let me be clear on this, I am not expressing that the world is going to end; quite the contrary, the Earth will continue to spin…with…or without us.

Going ghost to me is a way to take my stand against all tools that the mentally ill use to spread negative energy or hatred against their fellow brothers and sisters in this world.

This is not a call-to-action blog entry. I know many people that use all of the above mentioned social media platforms. I even have share buttons for my blog entries so that people can share this blog entry and others with their networks. I only offer thoughts so that people may re-examine how they are using social media.
