Wendy’s Fitness Journey: Pre-Program Thoughts and Goals

Wendy is ready to begin a fitness journey, with me.

It has been awhile since I have been this motivated, to train someone.  You see, I have been a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor for almost 20 years; that’s a lot of years of energy transference.  As a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, it was my duty, to be that foundation, that my clients could lean on, until they could balance themselves.  What that means is, that no matter how bad my day could be, at times, I had to be 100% solid rock, for those people who needed me. Therefore, I couldn’t have a bad day.  My day had to be full of smiles and full of motivation, regardless of the opposition, in my life.

That’s where the energy transference comes in.  My clients could have bad days, too.  They could have a long day at work, or they could have had a problem at home, etc… and I would gladly transfer my energy, to them, so that I could help, recharge their proverbial batteries.

Well, after so many years, I became exhausted, from it.  People depleted me but it was not there fault. It just comes with the territory of being a fitness professional.  My priority was to facilitate a safe and effective workout program, that I could take the client(s) on, so that they could reach their goals, whether explicit (goals) or not.

I needed to take a break from it.  I wanted to work with personal trainers and group fitness instructors, to help them gain but more importantly, retain clients.  I wanted to help other aspiring fitness professionals, get a bigger business.  See, it’s not enough to just know the subject area.  Trainers must be able to understand personalities and have awareness.  Everyone is different and we must train individuals, accordingly, differently.

Why come back, now? Well, Wendy, Darling, it was simple; she’s disciplined, determined and dedicated to seeing her goals through.  She is very inspiring and if you watch the video, below, there’s a good chance, you’ll realize that, for yourself!

Wendy is as courageous as they come.  She stands tall at 5 feet 2 inches (157 centimeters) and weighs currently at 128 pounds (58 kilograms).  Wendy has a healthier body aesthetic but wants to lose 8 pounds.

I will help facilitate a loss of 8 pounds and get her to 18 to 20% body fat.

The approach we are going to take is a very calculated, simple approach.  I do not want to overwhelm Wendy.  The very idea of going to the “gym,” can be overwhelming and so we are going to keep Wendy’s workouts simple.  I’m going to establish consistency, first.

Wendy wants to look toned; she wants to look like a woman that works out, not someone training for a fitness competition.  It will be important to design her workouts to cater to that aestetic need. There needs to be a balance of tone, mixed with curves.

Due to Wendy’s modeling and work schedule, we need to keep her workouts short and sweet.  Quality over quantity goes a long way.  She will be working out to a 3 day split and because of her dislike of traditional cardiovascular activities, I am going to start her with work on the heavy bag. Fit boxing provides an incredible calorie burn but also makes for a great stress reliever.

This week, Wendy will be showing me her equipment access so that I can create the beginning of her program, which she will officially start on July 15th.
